The information that you will read about here are the result
of the hard work, patience and experience of the management,
employees and crew of Amethyst Shipping Company.
Over
the years, we have learned valuable lessons that helped Amethyst
emerge stronger and better equipped to meet the future challenges
of our industry. Through the years, we have implemented various
measures to ensure that our crew will have a competitive advantage
over the others.
We
have devoted our best efforts in providing our clients with
the most highly qualified crew possible. Our trained and experienced
seafarers always put emphasis on the safety of the vessel,
thereby minimizing the costs to ship managers and owners.

Our theme Bridging Oceans Safely reflects our
philosophy and practice in manning vessels. We strive to continuously
provide quality and efficient seafarers. Our endeavors and
programs aim to enhance the awareness of our seafarers to
the importance of safety in the daily operations and navigation
of their vessels, benefiting primarily our clients and everyone
concerned.

Two Decades of Journey at Sea
Amethyst
Shipping Company, Inc., has come a long way as one of the
country's forerunners in the Philippine maritime industry.

From manning its first client's vessel, a tugboat, in 1979
to fulfilling manpower requirements for twenty-four ocean
going vessels of various types at present, it consistently
maintains its commitment of providing globally competitive
seafarers to its international principals.
Established
on May 29, 1979 by Captain Ibarra Gregorio Guerrero, the company
commits itself to continuously upgrade its standard of quality
in crew management through strict selection and intensive
training of its officers and crew.

Two decades in the industry, and still maintaining its leadership
in providing reliable manning services, Amethyst Shipping
Company, Inc. manifests its strength as a reputable and well-trusted
company.

Presently being managed by Dionnie P. Guerrero, the company
upholds procedures and policies that meet world-class standards.
In 1998, Bureau Veritas Quality International certified its
compliance with the requirements of ISO 9002 quality standards.
The
company's expertise in providing qualified seafarers is evident
in its stable relationship with several international clients.
It supplies qualified crewmembers to various types of ocean
going vessels. These include Panamax and Handy Bulkers, Pure
Car and Woodchip Carriers, Log and General Cargo and Roro
and Container vessels.

Joining Forces
Amethyst
works on behalf of its Principals to bridge the gap with the
seafarers so they join forces with the ship owners and managers.
A familial environment is espoused, ensuring always a safe
voyage and the delivery of the vessel's cargo to it port of
destination.

A Ship's Growing Family
Aside
from its interest in a Filipino-Japanese joint venture crewing
company, the company has been expanding to other businesses
as well. It has ventured into real estate and property development
under the banner of I.G.G. (Ibarra Gregorio Guerrero) Development
Corporation. It has recently completed its third building
project.
